Parenting Your Out of Control Teen

Is your teenager disrespectful and at times abusive to you? Are you exhausted and frustrated by the constant arguing and challenges to your authority? Are you worried your child is using drugs, failing in school, creating havoc in your home and engaged in dangerous or illegal activity? Does your child fail to take punishments and act as if there is nothing you can do to change his behavior. If so, this might workshop might be an important step in helping you regain the love and respect that are so important to raising a teenager successfully. In our two hour workshop, we will focus on new ways of understanding your teens behavior, strategies to manage difficult teens, and how to successfully manage their most difficult behavior.

Bart Rubin, Ph.D.
has been working with difficult children and teens for the past thirty years in outpatient settings, psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment programs, private practice, and school based programs. Currently, he is Adjunct Professor at Alliant International University-San Francisco and his areas of specialty include family/couples therapy, ADHD, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse, trauma, child abuse, supervision and training. . He is a certified trainer and supervisor in Brief Strategic Family Therapy and is certified in both Multidimensional Family Therapy and EMDR. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of The Family Institute of Pinole (FIP), one of the leading couples/family therapy training programs in the country.
